it started off as another normal day for lt.ernie sparks. the birds were singing, and there was the smell of freshly baked bread in the air. all was peacefull and calm. then suddenly, an explosion shook the street. purple fire rained down on the city, and everybody was afraid. lt.ernie sparks made an announcement on on1, the public's only news source. he stated " today, at precisley 10 pm, earth was assaulted by an alien race known as the convenant. our orbital defenses stopped the worst of the attack, but one ship has broken through. luckily, we spotted it and destroyed it, but numerous dropships escaped the ship. we have very little defenses, as they were serverly damaged by the assault. we are humans, and our ability to change our lifestyles depending on where we are and what were doing ensures that we live on. we must fight back. they attacked our homeworld, now the hammer of fate is working serverly against them. you must help us kill the enemy. help defend the homeworld, its your last chance."

he then said to the marines "right marines, its time to find the escapees and kill them. so mount up". everybody loaded the pelicans, and they took off. soon the pelicans came across a crashed covenant dropship. the pelicans landed and the marines got out. there was nothing there, just the smouldering remains of the dropship. "check for bodies" lt.ernie said. no bodies were found anywhere near the wreakage. then, a voice came on over his radio. " sir," the voice said, "theres something you should see here. come back to base now". " roger that base, im headin back" "allright marines listen up. were headin back to base so mount up" said lt.ernie.

"what is it trooper?" he asked. "its the convenant wreakage's sir. there all in some sort of circle" the young techie replied. ernie looked. sure enough, the 4 wreakage's were all in a circular shape
"whats that in the middle" lt.ernie said. "ill zoom it in" the techie replied.
"its some sort of convenant device" he said. "lets go get it" ernie replied.
