Is 343 Working On a Halo: Combat Evolved Remake?

What exactly is 'industry chatter'? Is it the tea boy and the receptionist having a bit of a chinwag around the water cooler, or is it something more than that? Who knows? Whatever the case, those industry chatterers have been chattering again, sparking rumours that Microsoft's new Halo studio, 343 Industries is hard at work on a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved using the Halo: Reach engine.

Said industry chatter has been reported in the latest issue of GamesMaster magazine, which writes that if a Halo 1 remake is indeed on the cards, then it could come out in time for the game's 10 year anniversary in November 2011.

Apparently, this could also precede the arrival of a proper Halo 3 sequel in 2012. It all sounds a bit too good to be true though, so until we hear any kind of confirmation from the Microsoft camp, this is firmly rumour for now, although MS UK Xbox boss Stephen McGill told GamesMaster that he's keen on the idea of a Halo: CE remake, telling the publication, "I imagine it's a good idea," adding, "I think some people want to go back to older games and see them revisited and I think a lot of developers want to see that too."

Personally, we think that a Halo: Combat Evolved remake would be like printing money for Microsoft. It'd be guaranteed to sell by the bucketload.

Of coarse we will add it, I'll take the xbox version, this division takes PC (I heard rumors about it being on PC & Xbox). And If it does end up on the PC it might even be like halo custom edition.

Oh even better, just think of it: Forging in Halo CE! XD That would be so kick-ass.

If, It's like custom edition, people could make scen tags (Scenery) witch would be new objects to forge with, like even adding a guta into forge like shabah said.

Custom Edition of Halo 1 remake on the PC, with forge? Dear god, I might have a heart attack if this is real.

For some reason Halo 4 to me sounds like some pathetic rip-off of a game. Idk why but that's the first thing that comes to mind. Probably from watching a the fails on Youtube of trying to make a Halo 4 Trailer.

If Halo 4 takes place on earth it will pretty much be a left 4 dead halo game, cuz all that's left really is a handful of humans and the flood... Unless that mysterious planet at the end of halo 3 is a forerunner planet (Forerunners created the Halo rings and the ark, and also they passed there knowledge down to the covenant)

If the forerunners are unfriendly, you can say goodbye to the human race.
