Before you do anything, make sure you backup all your map files. You can do this by going to this directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\ and making a copy of the MAPS folder by copying and pasting it. This folder is here just incase you mess up your original map files and you need to go back and fix them. File types labeled .ppf are compressed files. They are very useful for modders who want to share their mods, but don't want to have to be bothered sending a big file. If you do not have PPF-O-Matic, start out by downloading it here. First off, open up PPF-O-Matic from where ever you downloaded it to. Next, click the little disk next to the ISO file field. What we are going to do now is load the original, unmodified map. So if you downloaded a mod for Timberland, then you want to load timberland.map. All map files should be located here: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\MAPS Make sure All Files is highlighted. Click your map and press open. Now we are going to click on the disk icon next to the Patch file field. Now we will be loading the modifications (the mod you downloaded). Direct to the folder where you downloaded the mod. Mine happens to be here: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\Modded Maps\Iraq vs. USA\bloodgulch.ppf There really is no standard location for this. Just find the .ppf you downloaded. Now click on the .ppf and press open. Now we just click apply, to apply the modifications, and we are done! The map you loaded the .ppf with will now have the mod loaded.
