First off, the AI must be able to spawn in a vehicle. Second, the vehicle the AI spawns in must be sacrificed : ( But if you got elites and you hate banshees, this is for you
This will make AI visibly not spawn in vehicles, no more piles of vehicles
Things ya need: HMT v3.5 HHT V5, sparkedit V3.5, milkshape, LOD plugin
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
*If ya don't wanna lose the vehicle, follow this tutorial, duplicate the vehicle the AI spawns in, then follow this tutorial*
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Step 1 "Start-out"
-After you PMIed your character, go to HHT
-Open your map
-Go to the vehicle, and towards the bottom, the last actv tag
-Swap it with characters/whatever/whatever (weapon) (elite/commander/plasma rifle maybe)
-Save and close
Now they will spawn in the vehicle
Step 2 "Down and set"
Go to sparkedit
-Open your map
-Duplicate vehicles anywhere you want your AI.
-Rotate the vehicles so they are upside down (flipped). Snap roll is easier.
-Save and close.
Step 3 "Shrinkage" lol
-Open the map in HMT
-Go to mod2 branch, find your vehicle (for banshee, just press v and it jumps to it, first vehicle)
-Extract the first one, save it somewhere.
-Open Milkshape.
-IMPORT the model (no open) and go to wavefront .obj
Now, you should see your vehicle
-Go to select on the side, on the bottom of the panel click vertex.
-Select the entire model.
-On the side panel, click scale, and type in something like -15 for each.
It should be -15x smaller in the game, hardly visible. If it's still to big, go back and negative scale it.
-EXPORT this model, save it.
-Open in HMT, and import the model back over the first one. (Click top model, import, and then find the shrunken one)
-Save.
Not done yet
You must install the LOD plugin, to do this
-copy the downloaded file (mod2.xml)
-go to the folder with HHT V5.
-in the plugins folder, paste and overwrite (HHT must be closed).
Step 4 "Visible it shall not be"
Now open HHT V5
-Open the map
-Go to mod2
-Find your vehicle
-Click the arrow above all the dependencies next to where it says "dependency swapper"
-Set everything to 0
-Save
The reason for this is because... you know how progressively each model sucks more and more... well this only uses the best (top one). So you only have to edit 1, and it's the most consistent
Now play it, the characters will spawn in the vehicle, it is flipped over, so they will get out, and the vehicle will not be visible!
Remember, if the vehicle is still visible enough, make it smaller
*Bonus* If you can do skins, make the vehicle a green or brown skin like the ground, or white if snow, and it will be HARDER to see.
Lol no CE conversions!
-please post about this, especially if you're a more "experienced" modder, as this solution may be epic.
